A second edit using @tothepowerof8‘s drawings :) I was going for a more soothing vibe, but then planet-like shapes happened ? I like pidge a lot, so I might do a second completely different edit with this drawing uwu
Tothepowerof8′s gallery : http://tothepowerof8.tumblr.com/. Thanks again for allowing me to edit your drawings !
Almost a year ago, I asked @tothepowerof8 if i could use her amazing allura drawing to do some editing. She kindly accepted, but i never actually got to a point where i was satisfied with my work. I came back on this a few days ago, and this new version doesn’t seem too bad.
Thanks again to thepoweerof8, i’m really grateful you let me use your art for my edits °w° See her gallery : here
Most everything was done via research as opposed to getting a team of people from the county together, as with the shorter timeline it is difficult to coordinate getting a lot of people together
I don’t disagree with you that some of the things can seem off because we were also trying to keep most of the information in fairly short paragraphs and there is a lot of history behind most of these holidays- plus many of them (particularly some of the less known religious holidays) are unfamiliar so it was a struggle to find the balance between giving too much information about the holiday and still giving some information about things like the origins of the holiday etc. which may be some of what you are referring to
Don’t worry, you are not offending! Most of the idea behind this was to get people aware of some of the cultural differences that exist for the characters and (Hopefully) encourage them to learn more about it themselves than to be a comprehensive guide to all things French ^_^
I see, thanks for the quick answer!
(Just as an information, for the things that felt the most off to me : mistletoe tends to be used as decoration, kissing under mistletoe isn’t an actually common thing ; crèches are only set up in really christian families (so it’s far from being the majority), christmas trees and lights are much more popular ; and for most christian festivities, while the holiday is still here for everyone, most people don’t celebrate the actual thing, and just feel happy to have a day off and do whatever they want).
When your friend from France starts chatting in discord about croissants and you remember you just bought a box earlier but you already brushed your teeth and it’s 1AM…
I’ve made some poor life choices. Now I have to brush my teeth again. Thanks @itsmuscarinethings
sorry, it was time for breakfast for me xD (and it’s NEVER the wrong time for a good croissant anyways ;) )
